The Øyfjellet project is located in the Municipality of Vefsn in Nordland, Norway, and began as a local initiative run by the company Øyfjellet Vindpark AS. Eolus Vind entered into a partnership agreement with Øyfjellet Vindpark in 2011 and in November 2016 received final concession from the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy (OED). The area where the wind farm is planned consists of mountains that are 600–800 meters over sea level and with sparse vegetation. The area has very good wind conditions. The aim is to complete the project within the framework of the Swedish-Norwegian Electricity Certificate System, meaning before the end of 2021.
